Baked Lemon Garlic Salmon
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets
- 2 lemons sliced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. This will help the seasoning stick better. Place salmon fillets in a baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil, and top with garlic, thyme, lemon slices, salt, and pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine the minced garlic, lemon, olive oil, salt and pepper. Whisk until well combined.
- Spoon the lemon garlic sauce over each salmon fillet, making sure to coat them evenly. Use the back of the spoon or a brush to spread the sauce over the top and sides of the fillets.
- Arrange thin lemon slices on top of the salmon fillets. This not only adds extra lemony flavor but also makes the dish visually appealing.
- Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature of the salmon should reach 63°C (145°F).
- Once baked, remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a minute. Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve the baked lemon garlic salmon with a side of steamed vegetables, roasted potatoes, or a light salad for a complete and balanced meal. A drizzle of any remaining pan juices over the salmon can add an extra burst of flavor.
